Calgary Myology

An initial in-person comprehensive assessment must be completed prior to booking any myofunctional therapy. Using the link below, you will be directed to book the in-person assessment, or a myofunctional therapy session either in-person or virtually.

In-Person Assessment

The initial in-person assessment includes a comprehensive evaluation of the function and coordination of the muscles of the face, including the tongue, cheeks, lips, and jaw. Any issues that may affect breathing, speaking, swallowing, and overall health will be identified.

Things we are looking for include:

1. Muscle strength and coordination

2.     Developmental or growth factors

3. Breathing patterns

4. Tongue posture

5. Swallowing habits

6. Range of motion of jaw and facial muscles

Once the initial assessment is complete, a specialized treatment plan will be provided based on individual needs.
